Description
The Armory has two barrel-ended facades at its east and west ends, enclosed with
stucco arches and wooden window walls. These systems are over 100 years old. This
project consists of the west side only. The arch consists of several stucco systems,
including those at the face, soffit, piers, and interior areas, which shall be repaired and
replaced in-kind as shown. The existing window wall system shall be replaced with a
compatible thermally broken aluminum window system that matches the existing historic
profiles of the original system. The majority of work must be undertaken from the exterior
to minimize impact on interior mezzanine-level MEP systems and scaffolding impacts to
adjacent spaces. The scaffolding diagram is proposed to limit work on the existing low capacity
perimeter roofs and disruption to new roofing at the west side but is ultimately
means and methods by the contractor. Refer to Division 01 of the technical specifications
for a complete, detailed breakdown of the base bids and alternates for this project. This
project includes a Project Labor Agreement that will be executed between the lowest
responsible/responsive bidder and the East Central Illinois Building and Construction
Trades Council. A copy of the Project Labor Agreement is included at the end of Section
00 90 00.
